A feed.
An endless scroll of other people's days pays you for watching. If PeakIRL ever summarises anything, it will be once, and it will end.
The app is the part you can hold. This page is the part being built around it. Nothing here carries a date, because a roadmap with dates is a promise, and the only promise on this site is the one thing you can already download.
Two labels run through this page. Coming means it is built or in build and not live yet. Where this is going means it is a decided direction with no code behind it. If you want the part that exists today, that is the app.
Discipline on your own is hard. Discipline in front of three people who will notice is a different sport entirely. A crew is a small, real circle. Not an audience, not a feed of strangers, not a scoreboard. The people you would actually text.
A crew owner sets a handful of shared tasks and picks how often each one runs. Everyone in the crew sees the same grid, and the grid shows one thing per person per task per day: whether they showed up. Not how much, not how well, not how they compare.
There is no crew streak that snaps and takes four other people down with it, and there is no ranking inside a crew or between crews. A crew that has a quiet week has a quiet week.
Built and being tested now. Crews are capped at thirty people, and like everything social in PeakIRL they are 18 and over.
Decided directions with no code behind them yet. They are on this page because they are what PeakIRL is for, and leaving them off would be a different kind of dishonest.
Not a task you set yourself. A quest PeakIRL publishes: a real thing to go and do, open for a window, with a badge on the other side of it. A hike, a meetup, a challenge worth a weekend. It shows up on your home screen the way something new shows up in a game you love, and then it is gone again.
First: accounts. A quest published by us has to reach you from somewhere, and today the app has no server to reach you from. The single most valuable thing that can happen in PeakIRL is that two people who met here end up in the same room. So it should score. Two members confirm they actually met, both taps have to happen, and the credit is issued once. Turning up counts. Claiming you turned up does not.
First: accounts, then crews. There is nobody to meet until there is a way to know each other. This is the oldest part of PeakIRL and the part with the most proof behind it. Before any of this was software it was a hiking group in Southern California that met every other week, started small, got large, and kept people coming back. That is the whole origin story. The first PeakIRL event is that hike, run as a PeakIRL hike.
First: the obligations that come with hosting. The app currently points at events run by other people and hosts none of its own, on purpose. Hosting is a different responsibility and it gets taken seriously before it gets taken on. 18 and over. The honest way this thing grows is one person inviting someone they already know in person. So that gets recognised. Not for installs, which is a game worth nothing, but for the friend who actually starts, actually shows up, actually sticks. The invitation itself will never cost anything, ever.
First: accounts. An invitation has to be attached to a person for any of it to mean anything.A short list of people you actually know, separate from any crew. It is the smallest piece on this page and the one everything else assumes exists.
First: accounts. 18 and over.Every item above is bounded by these. They were decided with reasons, they are written down, and they are the reason the list above is short.
A feed.

Leaderboards.
No rankings, no crew tables, no per-member totals. The evidence on this is one directional and it is not a close call.
A shared streak.
A group streak is a guilt streak with witnesses. A quiet week from one person will never cost four other people anything.
These are not a marketing position. They are in the Code, some of them are enforced by tests in the app, and the roadmap on this page is what is left once you take them seriously.
PeakIRL is in build for iOS right now. Leave an address and you will hear from us once, when you can actually download it.
We store your email address and nothing else. No tracking on this page, no third party scripts, no list sold to anybody. How that works.
