The PeakIRL Code.

These are the rules the community lives by. Several of them are also enforced by tests in the app, which is the point: a principle that is only prose gets forgotten.

Where a principle names something the app actually does, it is marked. Where it describes something still being built, it says so. Nothing here is labelled as finished when it is not.

  1. Real life comes first.

The purpose of PeakIRL is to get you out into the world, not to keep you staring at PeakIRL. Nothing here rewards time spent in the app.

  2. Progress should be visible.

People stay motivated when they can see how far they have come. Two numbers, never one: how you are doing right now, and how far you have climbed in total. The second one never falls.

  3. Show up. That is the win.

Celebrate effort, not perfection. A one-thing day counts. Partial credit always.

  4. Everyone starts somewhere.

There is no embarrassment at Level 1. There is no failure state anywhere in PeakIRL. No red, no guilt copy, no streak that breaks and takes four other people down with it.

    In the app now
  5. People are better together.

We reward connection, encouragement, friendship and shared experiences. Meeting someone in real life is one of the most valuable things you can do here.

    Where this is going
  6. We compete with who we were, not with each other.

No leaderboards. Accountability lives between people who already know each other in person, because that is where it is honest. A crew can see that a member showed up. It does not rank them.

Live today: there are no leaderboards, no rankings and no social comparison anywhere in the app, and there never will be. Crews themselves are in build.

    Half live, half coming
  7. Your character matters more than your avatar.

The person you are becoming in real life is the real progression system. Skins and frames are fun. They are not the point.

  8. Leave people better than you found them.

PeakIRL is a culture where people genuinely want to see each other win. If you would not say it to someone's face at a crew meetup, do not say it here.

  9. Your data is yours.

Your daily log lives on your phone. The community only ever sees what you chose to share with it, and only with the people you chose.

Live today: everything you log is written to your own device and stays there. There is no account and no server, so there is nothing yet to share with and nobody to share it to. That line is the standard the community layer gets built to, not a description of it.

    Half live, half coming
  10. We recommend things because they help, never because they pay.

If PeakIRL ever points you at a product, a place or a person, it is because we believe it will make your life better. The moment that stops being true, the recommendation goes.

  11. The space is reliable.

A PeakIRL space happens when it says it will, whether three people come or thirty. The host shows up. That is the promise that lets people trust it enough to come back, and it is what turned a small hike into a large one. This is a rule for whoever holds the space, a crew owner or an event host, never a demand on the people who come. Nobody is counted for missing.
